PRIVACY NOTICE
At Citizens Business Bank, securing customers' information is important to us. We value your trust and handle your information with care. This privacy notice applies only to individuals who obtain a financial product or service from Citizens Business Bank primarily for consumer (personal, family or household) purposes.
YOUR RIGHTS TO FINANCIAL PRIVACY
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLBA"), which was passed into law by the U.S. Congress in 1999, creates a new protection under the law for consumers to limit the transfer of their nonpublic personal financial information.
GLBA privacy considerations affect consumers in the following ways:
- Financial institutions are required to ensure the security and confidentiality of consumer information; to protect against any anticipated threats or hazards to the security or integrity of such information;
- Protect against unauthorized access to or use of consumer information that could result in substantial harm or inconvenience to any consumer.
- The law requires these institutions to explain how they use and share your personal information. The law also allows you to stop or "opt out" of certain information sharing arrangements with other businesses.
- The law requires that financial institutions describe how they will protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
In addition to the above, effective July 1, 2004, California Residents are protected under The California Financial Privacy Act. Privacy rights for California Residents were expanded under the GLBA as follows:
- Financial Institutions are prohibited to disclose consumer information to an affiliated person without first providing the consumer with an opportunity to "opt-out" of this information sharing arrangement with an affiliate person.
- Financial Institutions are prohibited to disclose consumer information to any non-affiliated third party without the prior written consent of the consumer in the form of an "opt-in" notice.
The above requirements apply only to the sharing of consumer information, not business information.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect nonpublic personal information from the following sources:
Experienced Information
- Information about your experiences or transactions with us such as your account balances, payment history, and credit usage.
Non-Experienced Information
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income;
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency about you such as your credit score or credit history;
- Information we obtain to verify representations made by you such as your open lines of credit;
- Information we obtain from others regarding your employment, credit, or other relationship with that person such as your employment history.
PRIVACY POLICY OF CITIZENS BUSINESS BANK - CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
It is the policy of Citizens Business Bank not to share nonpublic personal information, whether experienced or non-experienced information, with any affiliate or non-affiliate for marketing or business promotion purposes including companies in our corporate family, except as permitted by law. This includes consumer information about current and former customers of the Bank.
We may share nonpublic personal information, whether experienced or non-experienced information, with companies affiliated with our corporate family and/or an unaffiliated party we hire or contract with to provide support or service to the Bank, as permitted by law. We require such parties to agree to adhere to our privacy policies and procedures and to comply with applicable law to safeguard our confidential consumer information.
We restrict internal access to nonpublic personal information to our employees who have a need to know such information, in order to provide you with products and services, and who are trained in confidentiality. We maintain strict physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy as it pertains to your rights under GLBA and/or the California Financial Privacy Act, please contact your Business Financial Center for more detailed information. The Bank reserves the right to amend (add, delete or change) the terms of this policy from time to time, and will notify you if then required by law.

ONLINE PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Cookies
We will occasionally use a "cookie" for the
purpose of providing improved service. A cookie is a
small bit of information given to your browser by a
Web site, which can later be retrieved. A cookie is
a way for a Web site to recognize whether or not you
have visited the site before. The cookie can only be
read by the Web site that "set" the cookie.
We use cookies for administrative purposes, such as
online banking session management, or where you are
able to customize the information you see. The use of
cookies makes your online experience easier and more
personal. Most cookies last only through a single session,
or visit. They do not read your hard drive or contain
any information that you have not already explicitly
revealed. None will contain information that will enable
anyone to contact you via telephone or e-mail. Your
Web browser can be set to inform you when cookies are
set or to prevent them from being set. However, if you
elect to prevent cookies from being set, some Web banking
functions may not work properly.
Cache Storage of Web Site Information
Internet browser software typically stores - or "caches"
- information from the Web site being visited on the
hard drive of the browsing computer for a period of
time. This means that information viewed or input during
a visit to a Web site can usually be viewed again merely
by hitting the "Back" button in the browser
application. (Some Web sites issue a "no-cache"
command to browsers to prevent temporary "cache"
storage from occurring.) To provide optimum performance
to those who visit our Web site, we do not send a no-cache
command to browsers.
To prevent others from viewing confidential information
cached on the computer's hard drive during your visit
to our Web site, you must clear your cache before leaving
your computer accessible to another person.
E-mail Security
Internet e-mail is not secure. When sending an e-mail
to us, do not provide sensitive or confidential information
(for example, your account number). You may contact
our ServiceLine at 1(888) 222-5432 (toll-free) during
business hours, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. or visit any of our offices if you need
assistance.
Linking to Other Sites
We may provide links to other Web sites that are not
controlled by Citizens Business Bank. If you choose
to link to Web sites that are not controlled by Citizens
Business Bank, we are not responsible for the privacy
or security of these sites. You are encouraged to review
the Web site’s privacy policy before providing
any personal information. In addition, Citizens Business
Bank does not guarantee the products, information or
recommendations provided by these sites.
Aggregation Sites
Aggregation sites are Internet sites that allow you
to consolidate account information from several sources
on one site. To do this, an aggregation provider may
request access to your personal financial information.
You should ensure that the aggregator company has adequate
policies to protect the privacy and security of any
information you provide or to which they are gaining
access, and that you trust the aggregator company.
If you provide information about your Citizens Business
Bank accounts to an aggregator company, we will consider
that you have authorized all transactions initiated
by an aggregation site using access information you
provide, whether or not you were aware of a specific
transaction. If you decide to revoke the authority you
have given an aggregator company, it is important that
you notify us to ensure that you may continue to access
your account.
Children's Privacy
Our Web site is directed to a general audience. We
do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information
from children on our site.
