Cybersecurity Month Week 1

In our increasingly digital world, being vigilant about cybersecurity is more crucial than ever. Here are some practical and valuable tips to help you keep yourself secure:

Be Wary of Phishing Scams:
Phishing scams often come in the form of emails or messages that appear to be from a reputable source, asking for your personal information. Avoid clicking on email links or downloading attachments from unknown sources. Think before you click.
Be Wary of Phone call (Vishing) Scams:
Vishing scams often come as a phone call, often displaying a Caller-ID you recognize. The caller often asks for your sensitive information such as your username, password, or a secure code delivered to your mobile device or email. Don’t share this information over the phone. Instead hang up and call the company directly using a phone number from your contact list or their website.

Use Strong, Unique Passwords:
Make sure your passwords are long, complex, and unique for each of your accounts. Avoid using easily guessed information, such as your name or birthdate.
Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):
MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring not only your password but also a second form of identification, such as a text message code or a fingerprint. Enable MFA everywhere you can such as your email account and online banking.

Monitor Your Accounts Regularly:
Keep an eye on your bank accounts and credit card statements for any unusual activity. If you notice any transactions you don’t recognize, report them immediately.
